This week Sarah talks with Dr. Lorri Many Rivers Santamaria, a Ventura-based yoga teacher, reiki master, and director of MICOP's Healing the Soul, a research project investigating indigenous Mixteco healing modalities.
Dr. Lorri starts us off with a lovely land acknowledgement and challenges listeners to explore the indigeneity and history of popular "New Age" healing arts practices. She also shares a short lesson on the impacts of colonization and offers a framework for "co-decolonizing" our minds and lifestyles.
We invite interested listeners to attend Dr. Lorri's virtual TedTalk on Saturday, March 20th, 2021. Tickets are available online: https://www.ted.com/tedx/events/39920
